Overview
 

This workshop teaches skills for writing standard operating procedures.

 

Objectives
 
  • Discuss the regulatory requirements and expectations for procedures
  • Identify, from several points of view, the difficulties in writing and using some procedures
  • Discuss different formats and styles for procedures and when then are useful
  • Identify the characteristics of a well-written procedure
  • Given an example procedure, identify its strengths and weaknesses
  • Given a situation, collect information that can be used in writing a procedure
  • Given a situation and collected information, write a procedure
 

Instructional Methods

  Presentation, case study, small group activities, and discussion.
 
Primary Audience
  Those involved in regulatory affairs or the area that the SOPs affect.
 

Length
 

One to two days.
In the two-day version, learners work on an SOP that will be actually used in their work areas.
